To properly calculate equitable handicaps for players competing from multiple tees, we will apply the directions found in

https://www.usga.org/HandicapFAQ/handicap_answer.asp?FAQidx=6

For these weekend's 2019 Memorial tournament at Royce Brook where we will allow some people to play in RED Tees:

The formula for the course handicap calculation is as follows:

In white Tour Course Handicap = (HI * Whiteslope/113) * 80%

In red Tour Course Handicap will be = ((HI * Redslope/113) - (WhiteCourseRating - RedCourseRating)) * 80%

where HI = HandicapIndex

and for Royce Brook East:

WhiteSlope = 126

WhiteCourseRating = 69.2

RedSlope = 116

RedCourseRating = 65.3

80% is our standard Handicap Allowance

RoyceBrook East does not have published Slope and Course Rating for Men on Red Tees, only for Ladies.

We applied USGA rule 5-2g to temporarily get Slope/CR = 116/65.3.

We extrapolated the chart to account for the difference of 873 yards between RED and WHITE Tees.

(White Tee Yardage = 5935, Red Tee Yardage = 5062, Difference in Yardage is 873)

Yards Change in Course Rating Change in Slope
693 714 3.1 8
715 736 3.2 8
737 758 3.3 8
759 780 3.4 8
781 802 3.5 9
803 824 3.6 9
825 846 3.7 9
847 868 3.8 9
869 890 3.9 10
891 912 4 10

So Red CourseRating = White CourseRating -3.9 = 69.2 - 3.9 = 65.3
Red Slope = White Slope - 10 = 126 - 10 = 116
